La Digue Island Lodge, Seychelles.
I was there on January 2005, spectacular.
The Lodge is set along the Anse Reunion beach situated amidst peaceful and exotic tropical garden of coconut palms, Takamaka trees and flowering plants overlooking Praslin Island. Besides being the main hotel on La Digue the lodge enjoys being one of the only local island style hotel of the Seychelles amidst a rich and natural setting.
As the largest resort or hotel on the island, the Island Lodge is where guests of other hotels and guest houses tend to congregate when they're not off wandering around the island. The hotel is completely built with local woods and there are several types of accommodations from beachfront suites and adorable A-frame cottages to rooms in a restored plantation house.
Plantation House – Beachfront
It enjoys a magnificent panoramic view of Praslin Island from its direct beach location.
This Creole Style House provides spacious rooms for couples as well as the extended family.
Chalets
Palm-thatched A-Frame style chalets with an attic and patio situated along the beachfront and in the garden.
The chalets are ideal for couples or family of up to four.
Petit Village
Terrace style rooms in a quiet setting of the Hotel.
Yellow House
Small but quaint rooms with spiral staircase leading down to a spacious bathroom.
The ‘Yellow House’, our famous colonial house from 1900 is classified as National Heritage.
L’Union Estate Beach Chalets
Located in the Union Estate Park, adjacent to one of most Famous and Filmed Beach “Anse Source d’Argent”.
The Spacious Beach Chalets enjoys exclusivity and tranquility of the deserted L’Union Beach and it’s vast nature surroundings. Each with two separate bedrooms with ensuite, living and kitchen, which provides the liberty for choice ideal for retreats and families.
All accommodation comprises of Air Condition, Separate Shower & Bath, Minibar, Tea&Coffee Facilities, TV, Telephone
The main Restaurant ‘Pecheur’ offers a variety of cuisines with different theme nights ranging from Table d’hote menus to buffets with occasional live entertainment. Whereas the Pool Restaurant caters for daytime meals & beverages in an informal setting, cocktail at sundown and some evenings fine Al Fresco Dining.
The “Coco Tendre” bar is well visited by the early diners wishing to cool off before and after their dinner.
